In order to understand the magnitude of God’s atonement and reconciliation, we must first understand the vastness of the gulf that lies between a holy God and sinful man.

As a consequence of Adam’s single sin:

      God banished our first parents from Eden, and they were separated from

      His fellowship - Genesis 3.

      Because of this one sin, all of Adam and Eve’s descendents are born with a fallen

      sin nature.

           Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death

           passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:                                       Romans 5:12

     The earth too, is under the curse of sin to this day.

          For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until

          now.                                                                                                        Romans 8:22

      For one sin God excluded Moses from the Promised Land.

         And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify

         me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation

         into the land which I have given them.                                                   Numbers 20:12

     For David’s one sin, 70,000 men died - 2 Samuel 24:15.

     For one sin God struck Elisha’s servant with leprosy - 2 Kings 5:27.

     For one sin God ended the lives of Ananias and Sapphira  - Acts 5:1-10.

     Ongoing sin first caused the nation of Israel to go into exile for 70 years.

     The Jewish people have been dispersed throughout the earth for nearly 2,000 years for

     rejecting Jesus Christ as Messiah.

Is even one sin important?

Yes, to a Holy and Righteous God - the God of the Bible

For he hath made him [the Lord Jesus Christ] to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.                                                                                  2 Corinthians 5:21
